Our villager has just pulled a fresh stack of flatbread from the family's clay oven, and the cat is sleeping it off nearby. Kids can color the olive tree, the stone wall, the basket of loaves and the beehive-shaped oven called a tannur.
Talk about it while they color:
- Bread was baked fresh almost every day. Who bakes or cooks in your house?
- Jesus called himself "the bread of life" (John 6:35). Why do you think he picked bread?
- The boy who shared his lunch with Jesus had five small barley loaves like these. What would you share?
