Privacy policy

The short version: you don't need an account for anything on Good News Doodles, we never ask children for personal information, and the only thing we measure is which pages and printables get used, so we know what to make next.

Who we are

Good News Doodles (goodnewsdoodles.com) makes free Bible videos, lessons and printables for teachers and families.

Who this site is for

The site is written for adults: Sunday and Sabbath School teachers, kids' ministry leaders, homeschool families and parents. Children use the activities (the quiz, word searches, coloring pages) with a grown-up. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. There are no accounts, no comments and no forms for children to fill in, and quiz scores and puzzle progress stay in the browser.

What we collect

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits. It records:

  • which pages are viewed and how people arrive (a search engine, a link, an email);
  • general device information: browser, screen size, operating system, language;
  • approximate location (country and city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses;
  • a few activity events: a printable PDF downloaded, a word search finished or printed, the quiz finished (with its score), a video started, and the email form submitted (not what was typed into it).

We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization, so this data is not linked to Google accounts and is not used for advertising. We keep it for no longer than 14 months. We see totals, not individuals.

Email list

If you sign up for the free starter kit, we keep your email address with our email provider to send you lessons. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future sends.

Purchases

Lesson packs are sold through a third-party checkout. The checkout provider handles your payment details; we never see your card number.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two cookies, and only if analytics is on:

  • _ga tells one visit from another (expires after 2 years);
  • _ga_<id> keeps track of the current session (expires after 2 years).

We also store your analytics choice in your browser (gnd-analytics) so we don't ask again. Nothing else on the site sets cookies. Our fonts are served from our own site, not from Google Fonts.

Your choice about analytics

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, analytics stays off until you accept it. Everyone else can switch it off here at any time.

Analytics on this browser: …

Services that handle requests

  • Netlify hosts the site and keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
  • Cloudflare R2 serves our video files, with the same kind of short-lived request logs.
  • YouTube: on videos hosted there, the YouTube player loads only after you press play, from youtube-nocookie.com.
  • Google Analytics, as described above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete data about you, or to object to how it is used. Because analytics data is not tied to your name, the simplest step is to switch analytics off above. To remove your email address from our list, use the unsubscribe link in any email.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. See also our terms of use.
